Exciting News: Our Dental Office Has Moved!

Dear patients, parents, and friends of Dental Reflections Dublin,

I am writing with some exciting news that will impact our practice: our well-loved Bradenton office building has been replaced with a brand-new building less than 1 mile away! Please read on for answers to some of your likely questions.
Our old office lease at 5080 Bradenton Ave ended, we outgrew the space, and some of our existing dental equipment was over 40 years old and needed to be replaced to continue to be useful to our patients and our team.

After considering options, we concluded that a new space would best serve the needs of our patients and our team.
In 2021, we acquired a lot in the new Corners development at the intersection of Rings and Frantz Rd near the Field of Corn. The City of Dublin approved the plans in 2022, and we began construction in 2023.

Our new building is approximately 7,000 square feet of office space to be shared between Dental Reflections Dublin and a tenant business. The new building provides our practice with roughly 5,500 square feet of office space, gaining about 60% more square footage than our old structure.

We hope that you and your family will join us in our excitement as we celebrate our new and improved building, designed with you in mind! If you have questions, we would like to hear from you. Please send us an email at [email protected] or call the office at 614-799-5576.

As always, thank you for being a part of the Dental Reflections Dublin patient family and contributing to our growth. We thank you for your support as we begin this exciting new chapter.

Kindest regards,

Dr. As-Sanie, Dr. Alwattar, and the entire DRD team

Back to School Dental Check-Up

Now that the rush of going back to school is over, it is time to schedule a visit to the dentist. And not just for the kids! At Dental Reflections Dublin, we make this easy to do by offering online scheduling on our website or by calling our office. This allows you to find a date and time that works best for you and your family. With the busy holiday season approaching, it is important to maintain a happy, healthy smile.

How often should you go to the dentist?

For regular dental check-ups, we recommend visiting every six months. Check-ups at least every six months will allow you to keep your mouth healthy. It also allows our team to stay up to date on any changes that may have occurred. According to the American Dental Association, a check-up and cleaning every six months is the best way to maintain a healthy smile. A good habit of brushing and flossing daily will keep teeth clean and healthy in between visits.

Why are dental check-ups important?

Through examination by a trained dentist, many oral health concerns can be detected and then treated. Dental checkups provide professional cleanings, oral cancer screenings, and digital X-rays to check for hidden issues. This helps to eliminate plaque buildup and other bacteria that daily brushing and flossing won’t effectively eliminate.

Why are brushing and flossing so important?

It is important to brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes each time. While you are brushing, make sure to brush every surface of the tooth. Using a soft-bristled toothbrush with a shape that best fits your mouth will result in the best cleaning. A toothbrush that correctly fits into your mouth will allow you to reach every tooth effectively. Brushing before school and before bed is a great schedule to aim for. Adding flossing to your brushing routine will take the cleaning to the next level. Flossing allows you to get a deeper clean between the teeth, where a toothbrush might not reach. Starting a thorough oral hygiene routine is key to maintaining optimal oral health in between dental visits. It might seem difficult to start, but add it to the morning routine before school.

Regular dental checkups are a must to keep a healthy and clean mouth. Talk with your dentist about any issues you are having with your teeth. The key is continually to visit the dentist for regular teeth cleanings to prevent problems altogether. Here at Dental Reflections Dublin, we’re always here to help you. Call our office at (614) 799-5576 to get an appointment for a dental checkup.

Professional Teeth Whitening vs At Home

A bright, white smile is often associated with youth, health, and beauty. Teeth can become discolored for a variety of reasons, including aging, smoking, drinking coffee or tea, and certain medications. Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic procedure that can help to restore the natural brightness of teeth. However, there are different ways to achieve this, including teeth whitening at a dentist’s office and teeth whitening at home. We will discuss the pros and cons of each method below.

Professional Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening at Dental Reflections Dublin is a popular option for those who want quick and long-lasting results. The process involves applying a bleaching agent directly to the teeth, which is then activated with a special light. The entire procedure can be completed in one session, lasting around an hour.

Pros:

  • Professional expertise: When you choose to have your teeth whitened at a dental office, you can rest assured that you are in the hands of a trained professional. Our dentists have the expertise and experience to assess the condition of your teeth and choose the right treatment for you.
  • Stronger bleaching agents: Here at Dental Reflections Dublin we use stronger bleaching agents than those available over the counter. This means that the results are more dramatic and longer-lasting.
  • Safety: Teeth whitening at our dental office is a safe procedure, as we take precautions to protect your gums and other sensitive areas of your mouth.

Cons:

  • Cost: Teeth whitening at a dental office is more expensive than teeth whitening at home. The cost can vary depending on the office, but on average, it can range from $500 to $1,000 per session.
  • Time: Teeth whitening at a dental office requires an appointment, which can take up to an hour. This can be inconvenient for those with a busy schedule.

Teeth Whitening at Home

Teeth whitening at home is a more affordable and convenient option for those who want to brighten their smile. The process involves using a whitening agent, which is applied to the teeth using trays or strips.

Pros:

  • Cost: Teeth whitening at home is more affordable than teeth whitening at a dental office. The cost can range from $20 to $200, depending on the product.
  • Convenience: Teeth whitening at home is convenient as it can be done in the comfort of your own home. It also allows you to fit the treatment around your schedule.

Cons:

  • Effectiveness: Teeth whitening at home is not as effective as teeth whitening at a dental office. The bleaching agents used at home are not as strong, and the results may not last as long.
  • Safety: Teething whitening at home can be risky if the instructions are not followed correctly. Overuse or misuse of the product can damage the enamel of the teeth and cause sensitivity or discomfort.

Overall, both teeth whitening at a dental office and teeth whitening at home have their pros and cons. Teeth whitening at a dentist’s office provides quick and long-lasting results, but is it more expensive and time-consuming. Teeth whitening at home is more affordable and convenient, but the results may not be as effective, and there is a risk of damage if the product is not used correctly. 3 Stages To A Root Canal Treatment

If you have a toothache, more sensitive teeth, swollen gums, or other signs of tooth decay, you may have an infection caused by bacteria inside your tooth. Our dentists at Dental Reflections Dublin might tell you that you need a root canal treatment to eliminate this infection.

The goal of a root canal is to eliminate the infection and make it less likely that it will come back. Root canal treatments can save an infected or badly damaged tooth, so your dentist doesn’t have to pull the tooth out to fix the problem and relieve your pain (which is a much more complex and costly procedure).

Even though we know it’s not ideal to have to go to the dentist more than once, it’s necessary to finish all three stages of root canal treatment and make sure your tooth is completely free of infection.

Here are the three steps that will make up your root canal:

  • Stage 1: Evaluation and First Clean: In this first step, your tooth will be looked at to ensure you need a root canal. Then, the tooth will be cleaned to get rid of the bacteria that are causing the infection. After our dentist numbs your tooth, they will cut a small hole in the top so that the root canal can be thoroughly cleaned. This will include using antibacterial solutions to rinse and apply medication. Before moving to stage two, a temporary filling will be placed in your tooth.

  • Stage 2: Clean-up and Medications: The second part of your root canal treatment may be done the same day as the first part, but it may also be done a week or two later. At this stage, the root canal is cleaned more thoroughly to get rid of any bacteria that may still be inside the tooth. Our dentist may also take x-rays to check the length of your root canal and make sure that the whole canal is cleaned. To treat the infection, our dentist will also put medicine on the tooth.

  • Stage 3: The Filling: Once the root canal is completely free of bacteria and your symptoms have gone away, it’s time to fill it. This usually happens 4-6 weeks after the second stage of your root canal treatment. Before the root canal is sealed, special rubber points are inserted into the root canals to fill them. Depending on the damage to your tooth and the situation, you may have a temporary filling or a permanent one put in.
